About

I am a joyful legal aid attorney in the great city of Chicago. In 2016, I graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law, got married to my law school sweetheart Andrew, and began a two-year Equal Justice Works Fellowship at Equip for Equality, advocating for people with disabilities to be free from sexual abuse and trafficking.

During law school, I fought thyroid cancer and started this blog to primarily write about my experience going through cancer while in law school. My posts will likely continue to reference those difficult years, and I hope to continue to connect with people across the world who stumble across my blog after being diagnosed.

Feel free to connect with me on Twitter and/or LinkedIn!

    Hi Lydia!
I’m trying to catch up to you cuz Andrew and Zack are headed to BIOLA on Wednesday of this week! If you have time for lunch or something I thought maybe it’d be good for Zack to hear what it’s like from you!
    Thanks!
    Cousin Amy

Hi Lydia! I came across your blog on Pinterest. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in February and am a nursing student in Indiana. My friends, family, and faith in our Savior have gotten me through this time.
